Be valued, supported and appreciated at work!

If you just nodded along yes to the above, read on!

We’re a growing business, on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Speech Pathologist in two of our teams: Geelong or Bendigo.

If you're located in either of these locations we'd love you to join our team in an autonomous, but well supported role! In this role, you'll provide quality speech pathology services to a mixed caseload of clients aged 16 years and over in your local community.

While you don’t need to have worked in a community-based speech pathology role before, ideally, you have had 2-years on the job experience working with clients who live with a neurological condition or physical or cognitive disability or are experiencing age-related changes.

If you are thinking of making the jump from public health, we provide additional onboarding support to therapists who are transitioning from public health into the private sector (see we have your back!).

About your new role

As a Speechie at Allied Therapy Services, your day could include:

  • Starting your day with coffee & emails at home before venturing out to see your first client of the day.

  • Visiting a client in their home to review progress & help them achieve their goals like, telling a joke to their family, reading a book to their children, or safely eating their favorite home-cooked meal.

  • Getting out and about in the community. Speech Pathology in the community can be creative and fun! Word retrieval practice at social group trivia, swallowing practice at a local cafe, using assistive technology to order a coffee or social communication practice with a client's friends.

  • Touching base with your Team Leader for a debrief and chat about your caseload.

  • Providing education and training to clients, their family and/or carers to help them continue your therapy program in the home.

  • Calling into the office for a cuppa and a spot to complete your notes & write any reports.

  • Jumping online to participate in a client care team meeting.

  • Attending a joint assessment or therapy session with one of our experienced Physios or OTs.

  • Popping into a Teams meeting with our Speech Pathology Clinical Lead and other Speechies across our teams to share learnings and knowledge, ask questions and seek support or share in professional development learnings.

  • Liaising with support coordinators, local area coordinators, or others in your clients support network to discuss their progress, goals and to work together to help overcome any barriers.

  • Taking part in a team meeting, lunch and learn or our professional development program.

  • Finishing super early on a Friday as you have achieved your clinical targets for the week. (Yes, really! Chat to our Clinical Operations Manager Anne, about our super manageable clinical targets & how this can allow for amazing flexibility in your workdays or weeks.)

Join our team and you’ll enjoy;

  • Working for a well-established, community-based Allied Health provider with a strong referrer base ensuring a consistent & interesting mixed caseload of clients.

  • A structured 6-week clinical supervision and team support program built specifically for Allied Therapy Services new starters, including customised support for those making the leap from public health to the private health sector.

  • Ongoing professional development support, guided by a dedicated clinical lead from your discipline.

  • Regular and easily accessible day-to-day support provided by your Team Leader and collaborative peer network.

  • A genuine focus & value on work life balance. Family friendly & flexible working arrangements.

  • An amazing team & organisation culture. We strongly value team culture and focus on building teams who value one another and who enjoy working together.

  • Reasonable, achievable & flexible billable expectations.

  • Full admin support.

  • A broad & growing range of assessment, therapy & reporting resources & tools.

  • Cloud based clinical & communication systems. Laptop provided.

  • Travel reimbursement and leave loading of 17.5%.
