Team Leader: Ballarat

$122,800 – $143,100 per year including super (pro rata based on hours worked).

We’re a growing business, on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech Pathologist to lead our local Ballarat team.

As our Ballarat Team Leader, you’ll be the day-to-day ‘‘go to’’ support for the Ballarat Team of experienced Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists & Therapy Assistant. You will also help to promote and grow our service in the Greater Ballarat region.

Ideally, you’re a real ''people person'' who’s passionate about building a collaborative workplace culture. As part of the Allied Therapy Services Leadership Team, you will be well-supported and a valued member of a dynamic, respectful and innovative team.

The position includes a clinical caseload specific to your qualification in either; Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology.

If you’re coming to us from the public health sector, we provide additional onboarding support to leaders who are transitioning from public health into the private sector.

  • Work closely with our team of experienced Speechies, Physios, OTs & Therapy Assistant. We strongly promote knowledge sharing & collaborative practice amongst our teams. 

About your new role  

As a Team Leader at Allied Therapy Services, your day could include:  

  • Providing informal support to your local team of therapists. This may be over the phone, catching up for a coffee or in a quieter space in our Ballarat office. 

  • Identifying the needs of the team then planning and organising social, professional and cultural catch ups. 

  • Working closely with our Clinical Operations Manager to identify recruitment needs, meet with potential recruits and be involved in the interview and recruitment process. 

  • Helping to onboard and support new team members. 

  • Allocating clients to our therapists and managing our local waitlist.   

  • Liaising with support coordinators, local area coordinators, private referrers and community organisations to continue to build awareness of our organisation and services within the local community.  

  • Collaborating with our other Team Leaders or wider Leadership Team on quality improvement projects.  

  • Taking part in leadership team meeting or our leadership development program. 

  • Popping out to see your clients either at their home or in the community to help them achieve their goals.

Minimum role requirements 

  • You have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology

  • You have a General Registration with AHPRA or are a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia

  • You have a current Australian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle

  • You have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated work history as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech Pathologist working with clients who live with a neurological condition or physical or cognitive disability or are experiencing age-related changes.
